Practice Concentration & Experience

Ed Jorgenson has extensive experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications for a wide range of mechanical, chemical and computer related inventions including mail sorting equipment, underground boring equipment, polymers, polymer additives and polymer catalysts, orthodontic devices, catheters, electro-optical connectors, semiconductors and other devices and methods. Mr. Jorgenson has prepared numerous opinions relating to patent validity and infringement, prepared and prosecuted numerous trademark applications and has provided advice and counsel to clients regarding patents, copyrights, trade secrets and related issues.

Other Professional Experience

Prior to and while attending law school, Mr. Jorgenson was employed as an engineer by Inland Steel Company of East Chicago Indiana. Mr. Jorgenson also served in the United States Air Force.

Education

Mr. Jorgenson received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Idaho in 1977. He received a Masters degree in Business from Purdue University in 1983 and graduated with distinction from the John Marshall Law School in 1987.

Licenses & Admissions

Mr. Jorgenson was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1988 and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, the U.S. Federal Claims Court and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
